When this website is accessed, technically necessary connection data, such as IP address, time and requested resources, are processed to deliver content and identify faults. The hosting provider is Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of this freely accessible calculation tool. Access is not possible without this technically necessary processing.

The web server's regular access log is disabled. Error logs may contain IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps and technical errors. Configured rotation is checked daily and retains at most 14 archived generations alongside the current file. Empty logs are not rotated, so actual retention also depends on the occurrence of errors.

3. Inputs, cookies and fonts

Your language, currency, measurement units and ring size system are saved in this browser's local storage. These settings stay on your device and are not sent to the operator. You can change them at any time or remove them by clearing browser data.

Weights, dimensions, material selections and calculated results are processed only in your browser's memory. Jewellery Calculator does not send these inputs to the operator or market data providers and does not save them permanently. They are reset when the page is reloaded.

When you set up the actual-size preview, the entered display diagonal, a locally readable device model and technical screen values are saved in this browser's local storage. This is solely to restore the scale on later visits. These details are not sent to the operator and can be reset in the preview or removed by clearing browser data.

Jewellery Calculator sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. For the installable web app, a service worker caches program files in the browser so calculators can start offline. These files can be removed by uninstalling the app or clearing browser data. Fonts, icons and program files are served by our own web server; loading fonts does not connect to Google.

4. Metal prices and external links

The server fetches and caches public market data from XAUS and Alpha Vantage and historical exchange rates from the European Central Bank. Your browser contacts only our server. Visitors' IP addresses, browser identifiers, cookies and calculation inputs are not forwarded to these providers. Providers see the server connection, not your device's connection.

Links to sources and other websites connect to the respective provider only when clicked. That website's privacy notice then applies.

5. Contact and feedback

If you use the feedback form, the chosen category and your message are stored on the web server. Name and email address are optional and saved only if you enter them. Details are not published and are used only to review feedback, improve the tools and, if needed, ask follow-up questions.

For a new entry, the operator receives an automatic notification via Resend at their Outlook.com mailbox. It contains neither the message nor the name or optional email address. The sender's IP address and browser data are not shared with Resend either. The actual feedback stays in the protected area on the web server.

If you contact us by email, phone, feedback form or post, your supplied contact details and enquiry are processed to handle and answer it. The basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is responding to enquiries and improving this freely accessible tool. Details are deleted when processing is complete and retention is no longer necessary, unless legal duties or establishing, exercising or defending claims require otherwise.

The content-free notification uses Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.), Microsoft's Outlook.com and participating email providers. They process the fixed notification, the operator's recipient address and technical delivery data. Processing outside the European Economic Area, particularly in the USA, is possible. 6. Your rights

To the extent provided by law, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability. You may object to legitimate-interest processing on grounds relating to your particular situation. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it for the future. Contact the address above to exercise these rights.

You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, particularly the Austrian Data Protection Authority. The workbench does not make automated decisions about you or carry out profiling.

7. Transmission security

This website is delivered over HTTPS, encrypting the connection between your device and the web server. Absolute security of electronic data transmission still cannot be guaranteed.
